I was drawn into the story from the first few pages. I found the plot to be well thought out and having a few twists that were a surprise. The characters were quite real and some a bit bigger than life. I have not read the other books in the series but Winchester was very good at filling in the gaps without overdoing it. I was rooting for both Jean-Luc and Marielle alternately. I was fascinated as their relationship ebbed and flowed until it reached maturity. I will be looking for the earlier books because I like the way Winchester writes and I am always looking for new good authors. I have found one!! I can MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this book.
